Preserving Tradition Using Traditional Techniques
Handcrafted Excellence in Every Chair
We believe in the timeless value of craftsmanship, where every piece tells a story of dedication, artistry, and unparalleled skill. As we continue to create bespoke furniture that adds beauty and character to your home, we are deeply committed to preserving the traditions that have defined quality craftsmanship for centuries.
In our workshops, we are proud to continue a legacy of handcrafting that includes training our artisan upholsterers in the delicate arts of hand caning and hand rushing. These traditional techniques are not just a method—they are an expression of heritage and expertise that elevate the quality of each piece we create. We have brought in the renowned Brian Crossley, MBE, who has been caning chairs for over 50 years. Brian was awarded the MBE for services to chair caning and heritage crafts, following a nomination by Heritage Crafts. He has devoted himself to perfecting and passing on the skills, and is now one of the most revered practitioners in the world, regarded as an expert and ambassador in his field.
By mastering these skills, we ensure that every piece of furniture upholds the highest standards of craftsmanship, while honoring the methods passed down through generations. It’s our way of ensuring that your furniture is not only a part of your home, but a true work of art, thoughtfully crafted by skilled hands.
